Leadership
Chairman, Administrative Committee, George Grengs
George Grengs was born in Lynwood California and in the next few years, the family ended up in the West Valley where he attended Woodlake Elementary, Hale Middle School, and Taft High. After high school he spent two years at Pierce College and transferred to UCLA where he graduated with a B.S. in Economics. He has worked for over 25 years at Valterra Products Inc., a supplier to the RV, Pool & Spa, and Plumbing Industries.
George joined our Church in the late 1990’s and his church family is now an important part of his life. He is currently the chair of the Stewardship and Administrative Committees and is active in many areas of the Church.
George and his wife Karen who live in Northridge enjoy gardening, walking, working in the community, and traveling. He has a son Garrett and daughter Tera who live in the Valley as well as a step daughter Cynthia and two wonderful grandsons Cody and Cameron who live in the Riverside area.
Lay Leader, Roger Johnson
Roger Johnson was born in Aurora, Illinois and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1964. He began his career with Control Data Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota and has since worked in both the computer industry and aerospace industry as an engineer and technical writer. Most of his career was spent at Hughes Aircraft Company in Canoga Park from which he retired in 1994.
Roger is dedicated to this church. He has served as Lay Leader for many years and has also served on every church committee at one time or another. He plans and teaches adult Sunday School classes, has worked with the youth groups, sung in the choir and successfully written grants for church improvement.
Roger is an enthusiastic golfer, enjoys riding his bicycle and playing guitar–an interest he developed in high school and continued in college with a blue grass group. He and his wife, Nancy, were married at Canoga Park Methodist. He has a daughter, Michelle, two stepdaughters, Laura and Susan, and a granddaughter, Katie.
