Music Ministry

We are very proud to have a longstanding tradition of fine music at FUMCCP. Currently our music staff includes Dr. Pamela Blackstone, Music Director/Conductor of the Chancel Choir; Marianne Crosby, organist. The chancel choir sings every Sunday morning.

Our chancel choir is a very fun-loving, energetic, and talented group of singers. Our rehearsals are filled with lots of good cheer, open hearts, and excellent music making. We enjoy all genres of choral music from classical to contemporary and perform them with passion and enthusiasm. The group is open to adult singers of all ages and all levels of experience. The chancel choir is always ready to welcome and embrace new members. There is room for you! Whether you would like to join full time or part-time, we embrace a growing choir in all capacities. Regular rehearsals run Thursday nights from 7:30-9:00 p.m. and Sunday morning from 9-10 a.m. If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to contact Dr. Pamela Blackstone at pamela@blackstonephotography.com

Our music department also enjoys celebrating the spirit of God through special music and events throughout the year. Our musical celebrations include Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols, special Palm Sunday and Easter music, a Great Day of Methodist Singing, Music Recognition Sundays, Liturgical Dance performances, Concerts, Talent Shows, and Fund-raising events. There is a place for everyone in our music department, whether you sing, dance, or play an instrument. Let the spirit of God move through you by being a instrument of his loving grace.

One Generation

Marianne Crosby conducts a music outreach program on Wednesday afternoon/early evening. Singers and instrumentalists rehearse contemporary sacred music and provide the worship music once a month. They enjoy their fellowship as an intergenerational group while making music and having dinner together.
