THE ESSENTIAL 100 CHALLENGE

Growing in Intimacy with God Through Scripture
An "At-Home" bible reading program
Begins MAY 2nd, 2010

The Essential 100 Challenge is a new exciting way to read through the Bible. The Challenge is based on carefully selected short Bible passages, 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament, that that help you get the big picture of the Bible without getting bogged down.

Journey Classes This Month

Journey Class 301

CLASS 301-Saturday, June 12th at 9:00AM
Did you know that God created you with special gifts intended for his purposes? God didn't design ministry for just a few. He made each one of us a minister. At Class 301, you will learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, your Heart, your Abilities, your Personality, and your Experiences (S.H.A.P.E.) to minister to the needs of others.

Develop a personal perspective of the Gospel message
Develop your personal story of how God has worked in your life
Build confidence in sharing your story
Understand the P.E.A.C.E. Plan and how you can begin to be a part of it.

All classes will be starting or repeating in the next few months:
CLASS 101 - Discovering Church Membership
CLASS 201 - Discovering Spiritual Maturity
CLASS 301 - Discovering My Ministry
CLASS 401 - Discovering Your Life Mission

Journey 101 to 401 courses are designed to help members grow in God's purposes for their lives. Each of the four classes focuses on a different purpose. Attending these classes just might be the most important time you spend at First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park all year long.
God wants you to take your next step spiritually. That could mean getting baptized, committing to digging into the Bible each day, discovering how God wants to use you to help others, or just learning more about God’s plan for your life. First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park's classes are all about those next steps.

NEW CONFIRMATION CLASS

Confirmation for Middle Schoolers is off and running!  Most Tuesdays at 4:00 PM. See Calendar for scheduled dates. (For more information please call the church office).

Sunday June 6th

Pastor Melinda will present her trip to El Salvador where she joined the international community's commemoration of Archbishop Monsignor Oscar Romero.  Snacks & beverages provided.
