Leadership & Staff
Reverend Lynn Westover
After attending Vacation Bible School as a child, Pastor Lynn became a Christian. As a teenager, she felt God’s call to ministry. She graduated from Claremont School of Theology and was ordained Deacon in 1985. In 1987, she became an Elder. Before her appointment to First United Methodist Church of Canoga Park, she served First UMC (Riverside), Park Boulevard UMC (San Diego), Trinity UMC (Lakewood), Native American UMC (Anaheim), and Malibu UMC (Malibu).
Lynn met Stan Westover on a blind date arranged by her friend and his pastor. They fell in love and married in 1998. She once asked him how he knew she was the one. He said, “You kept saying ‘yes,’ when I asked you out.” They have two grown daughters, Heather and Lauren.
Stan, who worked as an electrician for 38 years, is retired from Boeing. He was born and raised in the Methodist Church and has a strong faith. In fact, he used to pray to meet a woman with whom he could serve the Lord. In addition to helping lead worship as a liturgist, Stan loves taking care of the facility.
Pastor Lynn is retiring in June 2022. She and Stan are moving to Shoreline, WA, where they will have the fun of living near their granddaughter Lucille and family.
