United Women in Faith

We are an active group of women who support and serve others through fellowship and the global ministries of the church. We invite all women to participate. It is not necessary to be United Methodist.
Our unit supports the Good Samaritan Fund of First Church and Youth Camperships through the Merritt Memorial Fund, prepares Thanksgiving and Christmas Baskets, and has also contributed to the David & Margaret Home and Methodist Hospital.
As a Five Star Unit, we support the district and conference by attaining specific goals that require active participation. Our unit also recognizes a church member annually for his or her outstanding service.
There’s A Circle for You!
Our unit has three Circles that meet once a month, and each has unique activities. Come visit and find the one that fits your needs, interest and schedule.
BOOKENDS CIRCLE
Meets in the church library the fourth Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm. Each year, Bookends reviews and discusses eight books drawn from biography, fiction, spiritual growth and the classics. A devotional program and United Women In Faith concerns round out interesting and challenging meetings.
FAITH, HOPE & LOVE CIRCLE
Meets in the church library the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Members volunteer to lead a discussion in an area of interest to them. Service projects such as food baskets for families in need are prepared.
SARAH CIRCLE
Meets at a Restaurant for breakfast the second Thursday of the month at 9:30am. Emphasis is on fellowship, concern for church members and developing supportive relationships among the members.
General Meetings
Held the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 am as needed either virtually or in person.
Mission Team Meetings
Held the first Thursday at 10:00 am in same month as General Meetings.
Silver Tea
Has been put on hold due to COVID-19. We hope to resume the Silver Tea in February of 2023.
United Women in Faith Reading Program
A full listing of the current Reading Program can be downloaded from the United Women in Faith Mission Resource Center webpage. Many of these books are purchased by our unit and can be found in our church library. Books chosen for each year fall into five categories. A special cart in the library is reserved for books of the United Women in Faith Reading Program.
The United Women in Faith website states:
- The purpose of the Reading Program is to encourage United Methodist Women members:
- to expand understanding of and participation in God’s mission;
- to increase sensitivity to all human beings, their needs, interests and concerns;
- to encourage critical thinking about issues facing humanity today;
- to grow in understanding of Scripture as it relates to Christian faith in contemporary life;
- to enhance self-knowledge and to act from that knowledge; and
- to strengthen involvement in local and global Christian mission.
United Women in Faith recommends a diverse range of books with the intention of broadening exposure to a variety of concepts. United Women in Faith does not intend that readers accept each word or idea contained within each volume. Some books you may agree with. Some you may not. Either is all right. United Methodist Women cares and wants you to be a knowledgeable and caring Christian about current issues.

Our Purpose
The organized unit of United Methodist Women is a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministeries of the church.
I Pledge
My prayers, that I may experience growth
and renewal in my relationship to God and
to my sisters and brothers;
My time, that I may respond to human need
through study, action, and reflection;
My gifts through United Methodist Women
that I may share in the global ministries of
the church.
